Hannah Hilleboe

Hannah is a guide, mentor, and lifelong student of the school of nature. She has devoted her life to helping children and adults discover who they are beneath the layers of modern life and reconnect with the natural world.

A graduate of Montana State University with a background in Global-Multicultural Studies, Hannah brings a thoughtful perspective to the relationship between people and the land. She is deeply curious about the ways humans have lived, learned, and found belonging within the natural world throughout history.

Hannah is also a homeschooling mother of three wild and wonderful children. Her experience as a mother and educator has shaped her belief in a living education—an education rooted in experience, curiosity, movement, imagination, and relationship. She believes children learn most deeply when they are given the opportunity to engage with the world around them through their whole selves.

Her teaching naturally incorporates storytelling, acting, song, hands-on skills, exploration, and real-life experiences.

In 2026, Hannah's passion for wilderness education led her to Idaho for an immersive wilderness skills training program. There, deep in the forest, she developed the skills to guide people in building friction fires, constructing shelters, filtering water, and tracking animals.

But the most profound part of her wilderness experience was not learning another skill. It was what happened within her.

After an extended period of living closely with the natural world, Hannah experienced an awakening of her senses. Slowly, they began to sharpen. She noticed more. Heard more. Felt more. She became deeply aware of the subtle rhythms and movements of the living world around her.

And, in turn, she began to feel more alive than she ever had.

That experience changed something in her.

Hannah returned home with a deep conviction that there is little more worthy of her time on this earth than helping the next generation rediscover their relationship with nature.

She believes every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with a deep sense of meaning, purpose, and belonging. She believes in cultivating a connected web of families who are deeply invested in their relationship with the land, committed to knowing themselves, and grounded in the values that allow them to guide and mentor the next generation with intention.
